Serendipity Scout Privacy

Effective May 19, 2026

What We Collect

We collect the email address, phone number, Google account access, and profile information you provide during signup. If you connect Gmail or Calendar, Serendipity uses that access to create your private world model, understand your goals, and help your Scout find useful social and professional opportunities.

How We Use SMS

If you opt in, Serendipity may text you verification codes, Scout updates, intro confirmations, and messages related to goals you gave your Scout. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

SMS Data Sharing

We do not sell your phone number or SMS opt-in data. We do not share mobile opt-in consent with third parties for their marketing. We may share SMS data with service providers, such as Twilio, only to deliver and operate Serendipity messaging.

Gmail And Calendar Data

Gmail and Calendar data are used to personalize your Scout and evaluate useful opportunities. We store derived profile information and operational logs needed to run the product. Other users do not see your raw email or calendar content. Humans do not access raw Gmail or Calendar content except when you ask for support involving specific content, or when access is required for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Storage, Sharing, And Transfer

We store Google OAuth tokens, Gmail-derived excerpts or summaries, Calendar-derived event context, Scout memories, and operational logs only as needed to provide Serendipity features, maintain security, debug the service, and honor deletion requests. We do not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising or marketing. We share data with service providers only when they help us operate Serendipity under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Security And Retention

We protect Google user data with access controls, encrypted transport, restricted operational access, and secret management for OAuth credentials. We retain Google-derived data only while it is needed for user-facing Scout features, account operation, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, backups, or deletion auditing.

Google API Limited Use

Serendipity's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Gmail and Calendar data only to provide and improve user-facing Scout features such as personalization, reminders, opportunity discovery, and intro suggestions. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine credit-worthiness or lending eligibility.

Choices

You can stop SMS messages by replying STOP. You can disconnect Google access from your Google account permissions page. For data deletion or account questions, email support@joinserendipity.ai.
